From 1976 to 1991, he was the director of the photography department at Sourosh Press and from 1997 to 2000, he worked as a founding member, advisor and curator of the first photography museum in Iran, Aks Khaneh Shahr. Since 1999, Bahman Jalali has also been a member of the editorial board of Aksnameh, a quarterly photography magazine. As well as teaching at Iranian universities, which he has been doing for more than 25 years, he is also sought-after as a judging panel member for various photography competitions in Iran and abroad.
