Pauline Curnier Jardin, Villa Romana Fellow 2021, presents her first institutional solo exhibition at Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart - Berlin

Pauline Curnier Jardin, Villa Romana Fellow 2021 and winner of the Preis der Nationalgalerie 2019, presents the expansive video installation Fat to Ashes (01 Apr - 19 Sep 2021), created on the occasion of her first institutional solo exhibition in Germany, at Historische Halle of Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin.
Fat to Ashes connects a religious festival in honour of St. Agatha, the slaughter of a pig and the Cologne carnival through three filmic moments, as spaces of action of cultic communal rituals, of performative display and an effusive suspension of valid norms.
Preis der Nationalgalerie is awarded every two years and is a museum honour for artists under 40 who live and work in Germany.
