Luca Alessandrini, director of the Instituto Storico Parri di Bologna and the Museo della Resistenza in Bologna will hold an introductory talk. A video documentation of the project Be a Poem (Villa Romana, 2020) will also be shown.
Wearing the mask and presenting the Green pass is mandatory.

In her artistic practice Virginia Zanetti deals with topics such as collective creativity and individual responsibility, translating them into group performances involving local communities.
The catalogue Be a Poem borrows its title from one of the latest performance projects the artist has realized for the yearly programme Scuola Popolare in Villa Romana, in 2020. The performance involved a shared contemplation of the current pandemic situation and the adjacent alienating isolation, with the participants embroidering their thoughts in a gesture of building together a shared experience that overcomes imposed boundaries.
The publication accompanied Virginia Zanetti's solo exhibition in Palazzo D'Accursio in Bologna (07 May – 06 Jun 2021), curated by Matteo Innocenti. It comprises the artist's most recent works, starting with The Pillars of Earth (various locations, 2016 ongoing), an continuing performance aiming at reversing one's point of view by employing collective means of thinking and acting. Other mentioned projects are Abysses (Manifesta 12, Palermo, 2018) and Para onde estamos indo? (Magic Carpet, Lisbon, 2019).

Virginia Zanetti (*1981, Fiesole, Florence) is an artist and educator who works in both, institutional and unconventional contexts, such as the MAN of Nuoro, Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, Kunsthalle of Bern, the Italian Cultural Institute of New Delhi and Zurich. She is co-founder of the project space Estuario in Prato and of the Laboratorio del Futuro, a discussion platform where intellectuals from various cultural areas meet and debate together with the citizens main issues of our time.
