Artist Cesare Pietroiusti joins the Villa Romana community to share perspectives on his work and research, presenting reflections around themes resonating with many of the different investigations currently unfolding in the house. Pietroiusti will talk about the artwork as a pretext - or a decoy, deliberating on the conundrum of the incompleteness of the artwork, and the creation of conditions for a shared ownership of the artwork. He will also introduce us to situated and community-oriented artistic experimental projects such as Fondazione Lac o le Mon. After the presentation, a discussion will ensue in dialogue with Raul Walch (Villa Romana Fellow 2025) and the community of artists, inhabitants, and friends of Villa Romana.
